BevNET Live Financial Panels: Angels and Deals
May 14, 2012 by BevNET.com Staff
BevNET Live attendees will receive guidance on financial matters large and small during the upcoming event, which takes place in New York City on June 4 and 5.
Speak with the Angels
Companies interested in locating the capital that will enable them to prove out their innovative concepts will not want to miss the unique panel on Angel Investment taking place on June 5.
The panel will gather four experienced angel investors straight from the beverage industry itself. Between Honest Tea TeaEO Seth Goldman, Fantasia Juice founder Brad Barnhorn, Oregon Chai co-Founder Brian Ross and longtime natural products broker and investor Bruce Nierenberg , the panel will comprise investors who have all started or otherwise played integral roles in the growth and development of successful beverage companies – and who have gone on to partner financially with other beverage companies as angel investors.
Between the four, they have invested in or advised from an early stage cutting-edge beverage companies like ZICO, Mamma Chia, Izze, Cheribundi, Glaceau, Coba, Zola and many others.
The panel will discuss the ways that their experience in the industry has shaped their particular investment decisions with regard to beverage companies, they types of companies they typically back, as well as the types of roles (active or passive) potential investors may seek as they commit their money.
At a time when much of the angel capital helping early stage beverage companies grow comes from inside the industry itself, the insight of successful operators who have become successful investors will prove to be valuable indeed.
Discuss the Deals
For those attendees interested in transactions involving more mature beverage companies, a discussion on the Expo Stage on Monday, June 4 should provide a valuable snapshot, as well.
Deeply connected investment bankers Michael Burgmaier, a managing director at Silverwood Partners, and Brent Knudsen, the founder and managing partner of Partnership Capital Growth will join in a segment reviewing recent deals in the beverage space as well as their expectations for the year to come. With a look at key characteristics affecting the flow of money and attention to the beverage space, this discussion should offer a comprehensive – but casual — look at valuations, capital availability, hot segments and emerging investors.
Both Knudsen and Burgmaier have helped companies create investment relationships with private equity, venture capital, and the strategic investment arms of beverage companies themselves; they are uniquely positioned to illuminate the deal-making world.
With four weeks to go before BevNET Live in Manhattan, space is filling fast, and these events – and the networking opportunities to follow – will offer an unmatched amount of access to information about the financial side of entrepreneurial beverage growth. Make sure you attend.
