Purpose:  To seek out, sell and establish new distributor and point of sale accounts, in the on premise (hotels, bars, restaurants, clubs, spas, gyms etc) for Jax Coco and effectively and efficiently grow those accounts in coordination with external (e.g. customers and distributors) and internal groups (e.g. management, operations, marketing). The position will be expected to develop and keep up to date a business plan for on-premise sales within their region and provide feedback on and participate in sales strategy development and planning for company. The candidate must show an ability to be a self starter, enjoy selling solo and in a team environment and require minimal direction. Jax Coco is a start-up requiring creative and active participation across all functions but with opportunity to grow in a dynamic company.


Key responsibilities:


  • Sales and Merchandising

    • Grow Jax’s sales by establishing accounts

    • Identify, approach and sell customers independently or in teams as needed

    • Maintain a book of business and ensure customer expectations are set and exceeded

  • Promotion - Consumer and trade

    • Execute, solo and in a team, promotional activities such as in-store sampling, guerilla sampling, Jax booths at small and large events

    • Assist in the coordination and planning of promotions

  • Distributor sales

    • Work with the management team to performance manage independent sales agents, brokers and distributors to maximize sales over the long term

  • Sales strategy and materials

    • Develop sales materials and pitches in conjunction with jax management and marketing to inform and increase Jax’s value to customers

    • Make sales forecasts periodically and review performance

  • Operations

    • Assist regular execution of jax orders where needed to ensure proper delivery,  top customers service and payments in a timely fashion.

    • Follow up with all accounts across retail, hospitality and distributors to drive performance in coordination with other internal/external sales resources.

  • Other related tasks as determined time to time




  • 1-4 years experience in the beverage industry in a direct sales role. Non-alcoholic beverage experience preferred but not required.

  • An excellent understanding of the beverage industry from marketing, to logistics, to invoicing and collections with a drive to get things done.

  • Be self motivated and operate independently as a member of a non-hierarchical team.

  • Excellent people and communications skills

  • Basic computer competency: Video calls, Google Apps, Powerpoint, Excel

  • Driver’s license and not adverse to extended travel within Canada and the US including deliveries and participating in marketing/promotion events.

  • Base salary: based on experience and value, market competitive

  • Sales commission on direct sales:

    • First year of account where lead salesperson: market competitive

    • Subsequent years where lead salesperson/account manager: market competitive
