NEW SEAGRAM’S “SMOOTH” MALT BEVERAGE REFRESHES WITH A SIGNATURE CRISP & CLEAN ESSENCE

@@img1 Stamford, CT, April 21, 2003 – United States Beverage, L.L.C, today announced the national launch of Seagram’s “Smooth,” a premium malt beverage now available in two distinct flavors – a crisp, clean Citrus variety and a Red flavor with a refreshing mixed berry taste. Smooth is the first “ready-to-drink” beverage developed jointly by United States Beverage and brand owner Pernod Ricard USA.

“Smooth’s cutting-edge taste and style is ideal for urban, trend-setting
communities,” said John Chappell, Senior Vice President, Director of
Marketing, United States Beverage. “One taste of Smooth, and consumers will recognize another high quality, distinctive Seagram’s product.”

Smooth is available in 12 oz. 6-packs and single serve 24 ounce bottles. Its unmistakable textured bottle is now on shelves in grocery stores,
convenience stores and other retail outlets in major metro markets and will be found nationwide by June 2003. Smooth is entering a beverage category that has experienced explosive popularity, with upwards of 28% growth in 2002 – far outpacing the 2.7% growth of domestic premium beer and other alcohol categories.

Ready-to-Drinks remain a strong category, with 80 to 100 million cases in
anticipated sales this year.

The brand’s tagline: “Get Your Smooth On” will be featured throughout the
marketing campaign comprised of outdoor advertising, on-premise events and
promotions with leading men’s, women’s and music magazines. The campaign was developed by United States Beverage, which is handling Smooth’s marketingand distribution for the brand’s parent Pernod Ricard USA.
