Pepsico Offers Official Response to ”SoBe Tsunami” Concerns

@@img1SoBe “Tsunami”, which is a product that was designed using a surfing theme, has recently come into the spotlight because of the tragic events in Southeast Asia. When asked whether the product was being discontinued, SoBe provided us with an official response from PepsiCo:

“The overwhelming and tragic devastation caused by tsunamis in Southeast Asia defies imagination. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims of this unprecedented disaster. We apologize if the name of our “Tsunami” beverage, which was introduced nearly five years ago, now appears insensitive after this event.

Please be sure that we share your passion and desire to help those in critical need. In fact, through our parent company, PepsiCo, we are responding to this tragedy with humanitarian aid and product donations — especially Aquafina — as fresh water is in critical demand. Also, PepsiCo International and the PepsiCo Foundation have allocated one million dollars toward the relief and recovery efforts. More information can be found on the PepsiCo website,

Again, thank you for contacting us with your thoughtful comments. Your interest is greatly appreciated. ”
