CUBA Beverage Company enters a New Category that Combines ‘All Natural’ with ‘Refreshing Taste’ in their New Lightly Carbonated Herbal Juice.
Miami, FL. October 10th, 2007 - The drink with no artificial sugars or preservatives – ‘CUBA herbal energy juice’ - hits markets in the Pacific Northwest, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean and will roll out nationally throughout 2008. A deliciously refreshing sparkling juice containing Green Tea, Yerba Mate, Guarana, and Ginseng Extracts, CUBA’s herbal juice was conceived by CUBA Beverage Company of San Diego, California.
The company’s founders Alex Procopio (CEO) and CJ Johnson (President & COO) worked jointly in the exporting of energy drinks to Latin America. Mr. Procopio has been involved with humanitarian exports to the country of Cuba under licenses from the U.S. Department of Treasury and Department of Commerce for the past 6 years.
“Living in Miami, I was inspired by the Cuban lifestyle and their choice for refreshing natural nectars and juices”, says Mr. Johnson. The crisp clean look of the can gives the feelings of ‘Light and Refreshing’. By embracing that clean look and the health conscious we launched an Advertising campaign directly targeting those with that demand. Full page Ads hit the shelves starting in December and include such titles as; Lucky, Vogue, Cosmo, Fitness, Self, Elle, Marie Claire, & Harper’s Bazaar, just to name a few.
CUBA contains the optimum blend of Green Tea (EGCG), Yerba Mate, Guarana, and Ginseng Extracts which are naturally active plant micronutrients designed to work with your body. It makes this product stand out as unique. CUBA brings the benefits of ‘all natural herbal energy’ to the market place in a convenient and accessible, refreshing beverage, which contains less than 1mg of caffeine.” CUBA’s all natural fruit juices and naturally active plant micronutrients make it a refreshing choice for maintaining a balanced active lifestyle.
Beverage Companies have been under heavy pressure to change or reduce the levels of HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrups) or Dextrose, but that has caused them to switch to Sucrose or ever more, large amounts of artificial sugars (Sweeteners Acesulfame-K, Sucralose, & Aspartame). “I was sick of all the drinks that taste ‘syrupy’ or have added artificial sugars,” says Mr. Johnson. “There is very limited availability for me, a 34 year old health conscience consumer.” At the Convenience Store, all natural provides 1-2 choices, 100% grape juice or 100% apple juice, and sometimes consumers are lucky to find those, as you will more often encounter sugared watered down versions of a juice drink. “We've seen a shift in consumers' attitudes toward diet, health and wellness, with more consumers seeking product choices without artificial ingredients, rather than just eliminating calories or carbohydrates from their diet.” CUBA is a positive move in creating a great tasting refreshing beverage that uses no added Sucrose, Dextrose, HFCS, Artificial Sweeteners or Preservatives.
CUBA herbal energy juice is available in three refreshing flavors – Wild Berry, Pomegranate-Cranberry, and Passionfruit-Orange - in the ready-to-drink tea section at supermarkets, mass merchandisers, convenience and drug stores, and club stores.
CUBA will be sold in individual 12-ounce sleek cans as well as 4-can multi-packs. Suggested retail price for CUBA is $1.69 (single can).
