ORADELL, N.J., March 6, 2008 – ZICO LLC, the pioneer of the fast-growing coconut water category, has hired two beverage industry veterans as key national and regional sales managers, the Company announced today.
Eric Scheffer, formerly with Reed’s Inc., has joined the Company as its national sales manager while Andrew Griffiths has come onboard at ZICO as its North East sales manager from Glaceau Energy Brands Inc.
With his extensive experience in the Natural Foods industry, Scheffer will help ZICO expand nationwide in this important channel, in addition to overseeing national accounts and key direct store delivery distributors. He will work jointly with company consultant Bob Sipper of Managing Brands, to oversee these channels and guide the activities of leading broker Presence Marketing, ZICO’s recently-signed nationwide natural and specialty food broker.

Most recently, he served in Los Angeles as vice president and national sales Manager for Reed’s, Inc., a manufacturer of all-natural food and beverage products that utilize ginger as an ingredient. At Reed’s, Scheffer led the company’s natural foods sales efforts and helped Reed’s become a definitive category leader.
As North East sales manager, Griffiths will assume full responsibility for all regional DSD distributors. Griffiths was previously district sales manager for Glaceau Energy Brands, Inc. in New York City, where he led the company to record growth in its oldest and largest market.
