PURCHASE, N.Y., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers are looking for great- tasting beverages that multi-task, and they're seeking more functionality from their enhanced waters. PepsiCo answers that challenge with the introduction of four reformulated versions of its Aquafina Alive Nutrient Enhanced Water Beverage lineup, including a new option with 10 percent of the daily recommended value (DV) of fiber.

Aquafina Alive, a line extension of the nation's leading water brand, adds more functionality to PepsiCo's leading hydration portfolio. The new products pair ingredients like caffeine, electrolytes, antioxidants, fiber and vitamins with great tasting water.

With names like "Protect", "Energize," "Satisfy," and "Hydrate," the new lineup addresses a variety of consumer needs:

-- Aquafina Alive Satisfy (10-Calorie Peach Mango, with 10% DV of fiber) is one of the only waters on the market with a significant amount of fiber to help lightly fill you up.

-- Aquafina Alive Protect (Calorie-free Berry Pomegranate, with 10% DV of Vitamins E and C) is a good source of E and C vitamins. These beneficial antioxidants help to protect the body from free radicals.

-- Aquafina Alive Energize (Calorie-free Orange Lime, with caffeine, 10% DV of Vitamin B) is enhanced with about as much caffeine as an average cup of coffee and is a good source of B vitamins.

-- Aquafina Alive Hydrate (Calorie-Free Lemon, with electrolytes, sodium and potassium) is enhanced with electrolytes to replenish the nutrients an active body loses throughout the day.

"These beverages build on Aquafina's heritage, adding the relevant benefits of nutrients and delicious flavors - delivering the multi-tasking enhanced water consumers seek," said Ahad Afridi, vice president, Aquafina.

Aquafina Alive will also feature new label graphics, designed to clearly convey flavor, benefits and ingredients in a clean, simple, way that brings the new flavors to life.

In addition to Aquafina, PepsiCo's hydration portfolio also includes category-leading products under the Gatorade, Propel and SoBe trademarks.

Aquafina is a product of Purchase, N.Y.-based Pepsi-Cola North America (PCNA), the refreshment beverage unit of PepsiCo, Inc., in the United States and Canada. PCNA's U.S. brands also include Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, SoBe, Mug, Tropicana Twister Soda, IZZE, Tropicana Juice Drinks, Dole and Ocean Spray single-serve juices. The company also makes and markets North America's best-selling ready-to-drink iced teas and coffees, respectively, via joint ventures with Lipton and Starbucks. For more, visit www.pepsi.com.

I've just me the decision to reduce my purchase of small bottles of water in order to cut down on the plastic waste (yes, I do recycle). I'd be more interested in this product (which does sound good) if it came in large containers (gallon or more) that could be used to fill small re-usable bottles to carry or into glasses at home.
