PURCHASE, N.Y. - December 17, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — SoBe Lifewater fans across the country will soon be able to get the great taste and personality of SoBe Lifewater in three, zero-calorie, naturally-sweetened flavors. Hitting stores shortly, new zero-calorie SoBe Lifewater is the first enhanced water beverage in the U.S. market to feature the groundbreaking, all natural zero calorie sweetener, PureVia™, made from a highly pure extract of the Stevia plant leaf.

PureVia™ is the result of innovative technology that isolates 97 percent pure Reb A, which is derived from the sweetest and best tasting part of the stevia leaf.

"Consumers have long anticipated a natural sweetener, and are seeking healthier beverage choices. Zero-calorie SoBe Lifewater pairs the zero calorie all natural sweetener PureVia™ with delicious flavors to deliver the great taste SoBe fans expect," said Rick Gomez, VP-Hydration, Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages. "We're elated to be the first beverage in the country to feature PureVia™, and SoBe Lifewater fans will appreciate that they don't have to compromise on taste to cut back on calories."

The three new zero-calorie flavors - Fuji Apple Pear, Black and Blue Berry, and Yumberry Pomegranate ™ redefine the water beverage category. In addition to a full day's supply of Vitamin C, each bottle of zero-calorie SoBe Lifewater also provides 20% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin E as well as 10% of the recommended daily value of Vitamins B6, B12, Niacin (B3) and Pantothenic Acid (B5.) Each also will be infused with a unique blend of herbal ingredients. The all-new sleek packaging design exudes the hipness of the overall brand.

The new zero-calorie SoBe Lifewater line complements the current, hot-selling SoBe Lifewater in the marketplace, including popular flavors such as Pomegranate Cherry, Blackberry Grape, Orange Tangerine, Strawberry Kiwi, Passionfruit Citrus, Yuzu Black Currant, Agave Lemonade and Goji Melon.

The launch of zero-calorie SoBe Lifewater in the U.S. builds upon the brand's pioneering product innovation process. This summer, SoBe launched SoBe Life in Peru, the world's first beverage to be naturally sweetened with PureVia™.

Along with SoBe Lifewater, PepsiCo has the nation's most comprehensive hydration portfolio, including leading brands under the Gatorade, Propel and Aquafina trademarks. Building upon the company's non-carbonated beverage advantage, PepsiCo will continue to focus on this comprehensive portfolio.

I had this water this morning and it made me really sick. If you have allergies to sweetners this is not the drink for you. I was super excited to see that there was a naturally sweetened water beverage. However , come to find out I had the same reaction to it that I do with Splenda. I get dizzy, a headache, and nauseated. I just wish I could find one that worked for me!

I just tried this new SOBE lifewater with Purevia. After a few drinks I was half way through the bottle and thought it tasted pretty good but am now nauseous and dizzy. I thought I was literally going to throw up about 10 minutes ago to the point my mouth actually started watering like I was going to do so. I'm a pretty big guy and I've never had any problems with any other artificial sweetener before. From what I've read not very many real studies have been done on these new sweeteners and I think they really need to.

what is wrong with just plain water? It's pure, natural, no artificial flavors or chemicals. Why does everyone try to "enhance" their lives by paying more for these products. Not to mention all the plastic that goes to the dumps.

People, do research! This is ALL natural and is such a healthy alternative to aspartame, splenda, saccarhin, etc. It is excellent tasting vitamin water. I drink water all day long and one of these to vary the mix.

I think these drinks taste fantastic for having 0 calories!... The problem is from the Erythritol (primary ingredient besides water). Like Sorbitol, this is a sugar alchohol, also like Sorbitol, the small intestine can only absorb a certain amount of it. There is no harmful side effects, but if you drink too much you might as well eat some exlax or dulcolax. Limit yourself to 1 per day! If you drink more than one at time you are gauranteed to get Diarrehea! Aside from this, i think great product, still drinking them myself!

I really liked the taste and starting drinking about 5 per weeks last month. At the same time, I started to have weird stomach pangs, almost like the strange hungry feeling I had when I was prego. I really didn't put two and two together because I have never had any food alergies. I rarely drink diet beverages, so I don't know if I would have a similar reaction to splenda and others. I was extremely bloated. I wish I could drink it, but the side effects are not worth it.

Just had the Sobe Black and Blue Berry Lifewater for the first and LAST time! It made me sick. I felt slightly nauseous and had diarrhea -- and I hardly ever get ill. Too many weird named ingredients in drink to even begin to isolate the culprit. I will never touch a bottle again.

Of course it made you sick. It's a BAD product with one healthy ingredient thrown in for marketing purposes. Read the ingredients label: it contains 3 different artifical sweeteners---Aaack!

I agree with Tommy G, I had the same problem. Two seperate times I drank Sobe Lifewater and it gave me HORRIBLE diarrhea. Granted, I did drink it on a compltely empty stomach. Within the first 30 minutes after drinking it I had diarrhea that lasted for about an hour. I had to miss two days of school. I wouldn't bother with the stuff, personally.

I agree with Tommy G and Kelly - I gave this product a shot (blueberry flavor both times) for two days, and each day I got the Big D in the worst way. I finally put two and two together after searching for reviews online, and finding similar horror stories. AWFUL. Today I had to leave work early. How embarrassing and uncomfy. :(

I'm not sure where some people are finding there 3 artificial sweeteners, but they're on the wrong track. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol, which can be found naturally in fruit and during fermentation. Purevia is simply one of the compounds isolated from the Stevia extract, much like ethanol is isolated during the distillation of corn. Other than the plant and fruit extracts and the juice concentrates, there are no other sweetening agents in the 0 Cal Life Water. I've tried them all and have had no adverse reactions. I just can't drink them because they are way sweeter than regular Life Water. Just because the label reads Calcium Pantothenate instead of vitamin B5, doesn't make it bad for you. Just do some research like I do and you'll find out that some of the things on food labels aren't nearly as bad as they seem.

Loved them!!! tasted great....no caffeine,no after taste!!!, No nausea or any other side effects. No chemicals!!! Stevia is a natural plant and is it not harmful like equal or splenda. Give it a try.
