Jones Soda reports $3.8 million loss for Q1 2008
Jones Soda reported a slight increase in net revenue in the
first quarter of 2008, compared to the first quarter of 2007, but a net loss of
$3.8 million.
Jones CEO Stephen Jones called 2008 a “transitional year”
and said the company had completed several important initiatives as part of
their ongoing strategy to become a mainstream beverage. Those steps, he said,
included upgrading Jones’ distribution infrastructure in key markets.
The company reported that it increased its sales in DSD and
DTR sales by 31 percent in the quarter compared to the same time last year, and
increased its CSD channel sales by 195 percent while gross revenues increased
by 11.8 percent from $9.3 million to $10.4 million.
