The 2010 Winter Fancy Food Show took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from January 16-19, showcasing over 40 beverage companies and their brands. While there were fewer new brand introductions and product line extensions than last year’s winter show, the companies in attendance reported very favorable results over the course of the three days. Foot traffic in general was high and the caliber of attendees excellent, which ranging from high-end independent café owners to regional Costco beverage buyers looking for all-natural and better nutritional products in response to changing consumer preferences.

Here is a list of what we saw.

ALO – new Cranberry + Pomegranate flavor launching in March 2010.

Aqua Straw – natural spring water from the high Sierra Mountains with the straw already built in to the 20 oz. bottle.

Dream Foods – Organic Italian Volcano Tangerine juice and Blood Orange juice in 8.45 oz. PET bottles.

Fentiman’s – Rose Lemonade in 750 mL glass bottles.

Fre – line of alcohol- removed wines from Sutter Home in Chardonnay, Merlot, Brut, and White Zinfandel.

Gota Water – artesian bottled water from the Guarani Aquifer in Argentina in 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1 L frosted glass bottles.

Honest Tea – two new Kombucha flavor extensions, Apple Jasmine and Maqui Berry Grapefruit, along with a new Honest Mate in Maqui Berry. All three products will be available in April 2010.

Hotlips Soda – new line of all-natural, locally-sourced ingredients from Oregon available in blackberry, pear, black raspberry, raspberry, boysenberry and apple in 12 oz. glass bottles.

Metromint – switching to 12 packs.

Oooli Tea – all-natural, organic, fruit-infused iced tea from Canada brewed from oolong and green tea leaves. Unsweetened or lightly sweetened with organic honey or cane sugar in unsweetened original oolong, cranberry green tea, passion mango oolong, and pomegranate ginger blueberry green tea in 16 oz. glass bottles.

Silence Tea – an all natural line of teas promoting a balanced, calm, and relaxed existence. In four flavors: Green Tranquility-Awake Your Heart Chakra (Honey Green Tea With Ginseng), Lemon Serenity- Balance Your Inner Power Chakra (Black Tea With Lemon), Peach Chamomile Calm-Open Your Creativity Chakra (Peach Chamomile White Tea), and Pomegranate Peace-Fortify Your Stability Chakra (Pomegranate Black Tea).

Slow Cow – relaxation beverage with eight natural ingredients from Canada in an 8 oz. can featuring a revamped design.

Sweetbird – a new line of 100 percent fruit smoothies from the United Kingdom available in mango & orange, apple & black currant, and pineapple & passion fruit in 11.2 oz. recyclable PET bottles.
