May 16, 2011— Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of the award-winning, CarbonNeutral® premium natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, announced today their pledge to donate 23 tons of water to aid in the tornado relief efforts in the Central and Southern United States. Partnering with the Red Cross, local Churches and Mission Groups, Icelandic Glacial will be providing water for victims and disaster relief volunteers of the St. Louis, Alabama and Georgia tornadoes that struck in recent weeks. This marks the fifth major donation from Icelandic Glacial in conjunction with the company’s Water For Life foundation, which has provided over 460 tons of water for post-natural disasters throughout the world.
“Providing water to the displaced victims and incredible volunteers of these devastating tornadoes is the least we can do to show our support for their hard work and dedication,” says Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial. “I know I speak for the entire Icelandic Glacial family when I say that our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy.”
Renowned for its award winning bottle design, exceptional purity and environmental credentials, Icelandic Glacial is bottled at the source from the legendary Ölfus Spring in Iceland to provide customers with a product of the very highest quality. As a result, Icelandic Glacial is one of the fastest-growing super-premium bottled water in the United States.
