Award-winning beverage maker puts it distinctive herb and spice flavor twist on two popular soda flavors
MINNEAPOLIS (Aug. 27, 2012) – Boundary Waters Brands, the makers of Joia All Natural Soda, which debuted in the Twin Cities in 2011 and was named by BevNET as Best Carbonated Beverage of 2011, today announced the introduction of two new flavors — Joia Ginger, Apricot & Allspice, and Joia Orange, Jasmine & Nutmeg. The new flavors have begun appearing in stores throughout the Twin Cities.
The two new Joia flavors are all-natural, lower sugar products that combine pure cane sugar with stevia and monk fruit, both all natural zero calorie sweeteners. The result is two great new varieties with distinctive Joia flavor and intense refreshment but with less than half the sugar and calories of traditional orange and ginger sodas. “We are thrilled to introduce these two new varieties with Joia’s trademark herb and spice flavor twist on two very popular soda flavors,” said Bob Safford, Boundary Waters Brands founder and CEO.
Based on Joia’s rapid success in the market to date, retailers have been excited to bring the new Joia Ginger, Apricot & Allspice and Joia Orange, Jasmine & Nutmeg flavors to market. “Our customers love Joia, the products have been selling really well and we’re looking forward to these two new varieties,” said Debbie Leland of Kowalski’s. “I think the combination of Joia’s unique and distinct flavors with a lower sugar, lower calorie soda that tastes great will be a big hit.”
Joia sodas feature crafted blends of fruits, herbs and spices that create unique layers of intensely fresh flavor and refreshment. They are available in six distinctive varieties: Grapefruit, Chamomile & Cardamom; Lime, Hibiscus & Clove; Blackberry, Pomegranate & Ginger; Pineapple, Coconut & Nutmeg; Ginger, Apricot & Allspice; and Orange, Jasmine & Nutmeg. Joia is made of sparkling water, real fruit juices, natural flavors and pure cane sugar. The two new lower sugar, lower calorie varieties also feature a proprietary blend of stevia and monk fruit, both zero-calorie all natural sweeteners. All Joia sodas are free of any preservatives, caffeine and sodium, and they are gluten-free.
Joia is available at premium grocery stores, natural food stores and co-ops, as well as restaurants, coffee shops and delis throughout the Twin Cities and around the state of Minnesota, and is now beginning to appear in Washington, Oregon and Southern California. It is sold in 12-ounce glass bottles, individually or in four-packs.
