Bruce Cost Ginger Ale Now Available in Rexam Cans

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Bruce Cost Ginger Ale, the Brooklyn-based craft beverage maker of unfiltered ginger ale made with fresh ginger and pure cane sugar, today announced that its Original ginger ale has hit the market in a 12oz. SLEEK® aluminum can from Rexam.

Bruce Cost Ginger Ale Original is a refreshing, spicy beverage made with nothing but fresh ginger (no extracts or oils) and pure cane sugar.  Unfiltered and rich with ginger particles, it possesses a satisfying mouth feel and provides iron and a touch of Vitamin C.

“We are excited to now offer our signature Original flavor in a convenient and sleek 12 oz. can,” said Bruce Cost, the creator and co-founder of Bruce Cost Ginger Ale.

Bruce Cost Ginger Ale chose to extend its packaging mix to include the Rexam SLEEK can because its unique shape appeals to consumers and helps the beverage stand out on retail shelves. In addition, the company benefits from the durability, portability and sustainability of aluminum cans, which are recycled at more than double the rate of any other beverage package.

Rich Grimley, president and CEO, Rexam BCNA, says the SLEEK can is a great choice to help Bruce Cost Ginger Ale broaden its reach. “The SLEEK can is an excellent package extension for this brand because it delivers additional retail differentiation as well as superior recycling, filling, distribution and retail display economics.”

Bruce Cost Ginger Ale Original is currently available at retailers nationwide at a suggested retail price of $1.99 per 12oz. can and $6.99 per 4-pack.

About Bruce Cost Ginger Ale

In 1984, Bruce Cost wrote Ginger East to West, an award-winning cookbook that traces ginger from its origins through its journey around the world.  In 1989, Cost introduced his own herbal ginger ale to patrons of his San Francisco restaurant, Monsoon.  A version without the herbs eventually became a staple of his other California establishments, Ginger Island inBerkeley and Ginger Club in Palo Alto.

In 1995, Cost brought his recipe for fresh ginger ale to Chicago, where he opened Big Bowl and Wow Bao restaurants with Rich Melman and his Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.  Handmade on the premises of eleven dining establishments, it became a signature item that has outperformed all other soft drinks with an estimated three million sales.  After twenty years, he is producing bottled Bruce Cost Ginger Ale in partnership with TMI Trading Corp. in Brooklyn.
