Everyone, Even Jamba, Jumping into the HPPool

Jamba Juice, an 800-store line of juice franchises, is wading into the cold-pressed market, launching a four-SKU line of high pressure processed (HPP) juices that will be available in-store.unnamed

The products will be available in Southern California stores initially, with an eye toward a national rollout, according to Alexis Harrison, a brand representative.

Jamba has tried several pivots in recent years to try to ramp up its profile, lending its name to a variety of products sold in mainstream grocery channels. The stores, long known as smoothie retailers, also began a fresh juicing business last year, and this year began selling acai-style bowls.

The brand’s four HPP varieties are Orange Reviver, Tropical Greens, Citrus Kick and Veggie Harvest. Information on specific flavor elements are available in the press release, below.

EMERYVILLE, CA, September 22, 2014 – Jamba, Inc. (NASDAQ:JMBA), a leading health and wellness brand and the leading retailer of freshly squeezed juice today announced the launch of its new line of cold-pressed juices. Made from wholesome fruit and vegetables, the juices are available in 12 oz. bottles for easy, on-the-go convenience or multiple purchases to store or support routine consumption at home. The Jamba Cold Pressed Juice launch will initially focus on the Southern California markets with the product becoming available in Northern California by mid-October, and eventually rolling out across the Jamba system in 2015.

“Our expansion to cold-pressed juice reaffirms our commitment to making healthier beverages more accessible to consumers,” said James D. White, chairman, president and CEO, Jamba, Inc., adding that, “Drinking juice made from only fruit and vegetables is an easy way to satisfy one’s daily produce requirement. Our Cold Pressed Juice are both nutritious and delicious.”

The launch of the new product follows the brand’s recent, successful expansion of freshly squeezed juices, now available in over 500 Jamba locations across the U.S.

Jamba uses high pressure processing (HPP) for the new cold-pressed juices to protect their nutrients and flavor. HPP preserves more of the micro-nutrients that occur naturally in fruit and vegetables and which tend to be damaged by heat processes used to manufacture traditional bottled juices.

Jamba Cold Pressed Juice is available in 4 flavors and each 12 oz. bottle contains 3 servings of fruit and/or vegetables:

Orange Reviver – made with orange, apple, beet and banana

Tropical Greens – made with apple, pineapple, super greens and lemon

Citrus Kick – made with orange, pineapple, apple and ginger

Veggie Harvest – made with apple, carrot, ginger and super greens

The juices are made from 100% juice and nothing else. They contain no preservatives, and are never heated. For those seeking a juice routine, Jamba has created an easy-to-adopt, 3-day juicing routine guide using the new Cold-Pressed Juice.
