BURLINGAME, Calif. — First Aid Shot Therapy® (F.A.S.T.), makers of First Aid Shot Therapy Pain Relief and Upset Stomach, today announced a partnership with Advantage Consumer Healthcare (ACH) as its nationwide sales partner. Advantage Consumer Healthcare will be the company’s national broker for most channels of business, allowing First Aid Shot Therapy to further increase its retail presence across the country.
“We believe we have found the perfect partner in ACH to help us expand our shelf space across the country for F.A.S.T.,” said Andy Steele, Vice President of Sales & Distribution, First Aid Shot Therapy. “The expertise of ACH, coupled with our innovative products that offer maximum relief from everyday ailments, in minimum amount of time – we are positioning F.A.S.T. for success in the marketplace.”
First Aid Shot Therapy will be vastly increasing its retail presence in 2014 with both national and local retailers. This effort will be building upon the successful test market program which began in late 2013 in Seattle.
“We are very excited to partner with the F.A.S.T. team as we prepare to launch a new and innovative product line that allows consumers to treat their pain in a different way across a variety of therapeutic categories,” said Clark Brown, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at ACH. “Our two organizations are laser focused on bringing unique healthcare solutions to our customers and to their consumers.”
By basing the medicine on a liquid, which medical research has shown gets into the blood stream much faster than a pill, F.A.S.T. is able to offer maximum effect in the minimum of time. By developing a portfolio of FDA-compliant, single-dose, liquid medications that meet consumers’ needs, First Aid Shot Therapy® has created an entirely new category in the OTC space.
F.A.S.T. Pain Relief – contains two active ingredients: choline salicylate and caffeine. Choline salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), pain reliever, and fever reducer. Medical research has shown that liquid choline salicylate gets into the blood stream 5x faster than aspirin pills (1), an indication of its speed of therapeutic benefit. Caffeine is a pain reliever aid, which increases the response rate of pain relief medications(2).The two active ingredients combined make F.A.S.T. Pain Relief a safe, effective way to treat pain and keep people on the go. Pain Relief temporarily relieves headache, muscle pain, toothache, menstrual pain, pain and fever of colds, minor pain of arthritis and temporarily reduces fever.
F.A.S.T. Upset Stomach Relief – contains Calcium Carbonate – a proven antacid that works by directly neutralizing stomach acid and is formulated with natural peppermint and ginger flavors along with a hint of chocolate for smoothness. Upset Stomach helps relieve heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion, and upset stomach associated with these symptoms that may be caused by stomach acid. Medical research has shown that liquid calcium carbonate reduces up to 8x more acid than calcium carbonate pills and starts working more quickly(3), an indication of its efficacy and speed of therapeutic benefit.
About F.A.S.T.
Like many other successful companies before it, First Aid Shot Therapy® (F.A.S.T.) was born when two really smart people were introduced and started talking. That conversation was in the Bay Area in 2010, when Mary Page Platerink, former Director of Global Strategy for The Coca-Cola Company, met Dr. Jay Pasricha, M.D., then Head of Gastroenterology at Stanford University. With Mary Page’s understanding of consumer behavior and Dr. Pasricha’s knowledge of pain and upset stomach treatment, they began talking about products that could deliver fast, effective relief for people’s most common ailments. And that’s how F.A.S.T. was born. The company operates under the guidance of the F.A.S.T. Scientific Advisory Board, which is led by Dr. Jay Pasricha and made up of doctors from Johns Hopkins University and The Mayo Clinic. F.A.S.T. products are developed in the U.S.A. at F.A.S.T. Labs, based in Woburn, Mass. The F.A.S.T. advisory board is made up of some of the most senior consumer advisory and product executives from around the world, including Susan Arnold, board member, Walt Disney and McDonald’s; Doug Haensel, former CFO at Burt’s Bees; Ellen Marram, former President and CEO of Tropicana Products; Eric Meyer, former Vice President of Marketing at Sonicare; Mary Minnick, partner at Lion Capital and former Chief Marketing, Strategy, and Innovation Officer at the Coca-Cola Company. F.A.S.T. can be found at booth #2365 at NACDS.
