Don Sebastiani & Sons, a family owned and operated wine company based in Sonoma, Calif., has announced its entry into the non-alcoholic beverage market.
AQUA, an organic, caffeinated, flavored sparkling water, will make its debut at the upcoming Natural Products Expo East trade show in Baltimore later this month. Available in Mocha, Java, and Kola varieties, each 12 oz. bottle contains 45 mg of organic caffeine and 20 calories.
In a press release disseminated Wednesday, Sebastiani & Sons indicated the new brand comes as part its ongoing efforts to diversify its portfolio. In 2015 the company expanded beyond its wine business with the launch of a premium tequila and U Gottabee Nutz, a line of all-natural flavored dry-roasted nuts.
“I’m confident AQUA is going to become the preferred, healthy new alternative to traditional soda and high energy beverages,” said company president and CEO Donny Sebastiani in a press release. “For the active life-styler, it’s a way to refresh better. And for us, it’s not a new idea to challenge the status quo and find ways to do better.”
The new brand is currently rolling into retailers in the greater Sonoma area, including Broadway Market, Burgers & Vine, Pure Barre and Community Café.
