Nestlé Waters Partners with AmeriCares, Feeding America and Gleaning For the World to Deliver Bottled Water to Louisiana Communities

STAMFORD, CONN. — August 25, 2016 — Nestlé Waters North America and its disaster relief partners, AmeriCares, Feeding America and Gleaning For the World, are delivering more than 475,000 bottles of water to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where a catastrophic flood has displaced thousands of people. Twenty-two truckloads, carrying 21,600 bottles each of Ozarka® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, are being dispatched to disaster relief sites and food banks.

An estimated 60,000 homes have been damaged, while schools and businesses have been shut down for days. The current flooding in Louisiana is the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Superstorm Sandy in 2012, according to the Red Cross.

Deliveries are currently underway to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, the Salvation Army of Baton Rouge, and the Healing Place Church and will continue over the next several weeks.

“Clean, safe water is always one of the most critical needs during an emergency,” said AmeriCares Director of Emergency Response Kate Dischino. “Working with Nestlé Waters North America, we are ensuring families in Louisiana have one less worry as they begin to recover.”

“Feeding America is grateful to Nestlé for helping to support our member food banks that are affected by this devastating flood.” said Matt Knott, President of Feeding America. “Nestlé’s contribution is critical for the many Louisianans who struggle with hunger in communities impacted by this crisis.”

“We appreciate working closely with Nestlé to ship critical supplies to victims of the Louisiana flooding,” stated Ron Davidson, Gleaning For The World President. “We have been able to partner together in order to efficiently help the hurting families in a timely manner.”

“Providing much-needed water to the people of Baton Rouge and the surrounding area is a job we take very seriously,” said Tim Brown, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Nestlé Waters North America. “At this time of upheaval for so many, we are proud to work with AmeriCares, Feeding America and Gleaning For the World to make a difference for the residents of the Baton Rouge area affected by this flood.”
