Finlandia Vodka Joins 1% for the Planet

FinlandiaBurlington, VT (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 Finlandia Vodka joins the 1% for the Planet movement pledging to donate 1% of sales in the U.S. per year to approved environmental nonprofits within the network. A longtime advocate for pure water, Finlandia will use its commitment to support nonprofits working to protect the earth’s water resources and reverse the effects of water pollution to ensure they remain beautiful and healthy for the next generations.

Finlandia started with the goal of showcasing and celebrating the best of Finland through its unique line of vodka offerings made with glacial water. The company expanded into the United States in 1970 and has since become invested in giving back to environmentally focused causes in North America. Finlandia supports the Oyster Recovery Partnership, which aims to restore oysters – critical to filtering and purifying coastal waters – to the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. As a member of 1% for the Planet, Finlandia is launching a new oyster recovery partnership with NY/NJ Baykeeper and the Billion Oyster Project to expand its pure water efforts into the New York metro region.
