Tullamore D.E.W. Launches “Parting Glass” Campaign

TullamoreFans given chance to win a once in a lifetime trip to Ireland

NEW YORK, July 10, 2014 – In preparation for the opening of its new distillery this September, Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey has launched the ‘Parting Glass’ campaign, a global online search for the best toasts to mark the beginning of life’s new chapters.

The ‘Parting Glass’ is a time honored way of marking the closure of one life chapter and celebrating the beginning of the next. As Tullamore D.E.W. celebrates its new chapter, the brand is inviting people to share their own parting glass moments online to enter to win a trip to Ireland to attend the distillery opening celebrations this September.  To enter the contest, individuals must share a video or image of their parting glass moment with Tullamore D.E.W. via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, adding #PartingGlassUS to the entry.

To coincide with the competition and inspired by the award-winning short film ‘A Parting Glass,’ which features a group of guys preparing for their friend’s wedding, Tullamore D.E.W. has created a series of shareable videos featuring the same characters celebrating a variety of parting glass moments. From a toast to a new home, to a raised glass to a new job, these videos can be personalized and shared with friends via www.TullamoreDew.com

Caspar MacRae, Global Brand Director, Tullamore D.E.W., commented: “The new Tullamore distillery opening is a true ‘Parting Glass’ moment for us – marking an exciting new chapter in our 185 year history. As we raise a glass to this momentous occasion, we look forward to seeing the milestones happening in the lives of our fans and inviting the best entrants to join us in Ireland for some very exciting celebrations in September.”

Toasts can be submitted directly via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using #PartingGlassUS. Submissions will be accepted until August 6th, 2014.  For more information please visit www.TullamoreDew.com.

About ‘A Parting Glass’

The campaign is inspired by the award-winning short film ‘A Parting Glass’ which launched in late 2013 and has brought Tullamore D.E.W. into the hearts of fans all around the world.  The film follows four young friends preparing to raise a glass to say goodbye to a friend – but not for the reason we are led to believe.  Beautifully shot in the rolling Irish countryside, the film was created by New York agency Opperman Weiss and directed by Laurence Dunmore of Ridley Scott’s RSA Films. About Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey

Tullamore D.E.W. is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world in the fastest growing category. It has been widely acclaimed by whiskey connoisseurs, most recently winning the Double Gold Medal for Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve. Additionally Tullamore D.E.W. 10 Year Single Malt won the Chairman’s Trophy (highest award) for best Single Malt Irish Whiskey at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Competition.

With an intriguing smooth yet complex character, Tullamore D.E.W. is triple distilled, but is also a unique blend of all three types of Irish whiskeys; the pot still, malt and grain whiskeys. As a result, Tullamore D.E.W. is three times smoother with an added gentle complexity. Tullamore D.E.W. was the first and remains one of the few international Irish whiskey to pioneer this blend of three.

Created in 1829, the brand’s strong heritage started in Tullamore, a town in the heart of Ireland, and was fostered by the vision of an early founder Daniel E. Williams, whose initials live on the bottle to this day. True to its heritage, a new distillery will be completed this September in the town of Tullamore bringing Tullamore D.E.W. back to its roots.

Tullamore D.E.W. is best enjoyed to taste, but we recommend neat, on the rocks or served long with ginger beer, fresh lime juice and a dash of bitters in a Tullamore Irish Mule.
