EWG Spirits & Wine Launches La Quintinye Vermouth Royal in the United States

La-Quintinye-Vermouth-Royal-RougeNew York, NY (PRWEB) April 14, 2015 — EWG Spirits & Wine (http://www.eurowinegate.com), the world’s leading specialist in the creation, innovation and distribution of world-class grape-based spirits, has launched La Quintinye Vermouth Royal (http://www.laquintinyevermouthroyal.com) in the United States.

Born in the heart of the vineyards of Charente, France, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is an opulent French vermouth crafted from white wines from the southwest of France, Pineau des Charentes – a renowned fortified wine made by mixing fresh grape juice and Cognac from a single estate – and a composition of carefully curated botanicals. With origins dating back to the 16th century, vermouth was initially used for medicinal purposes. Pineau des Charentes was born around the same time from an accidental mix of grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie.

La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is a tribute to Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye, a visionary born in 1623 in the Charente region, the creator of the Kitchen Gardens and Botanist at the Palace of Versailles for the Sun King, Louis XIV. The values of excellence and passion for innovation epitomised by Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye are shared today by Jean-Sébastien Robicquet, founder of EWG and renowned master-blender & distiller.

“We strive to create exceptional spirits that are distinctive in character and based around the vine and wines, with flavor combinations unique to us. Bringing its noble and elegant characteristics, from flower to full ripeness, the grape is at the heart of all of our creations” said Robicquet.

“We are thrilled to be introducing the full range of La Quintinye Vermouth Royal in the United States, an original vermouth including the controversial Artemisia, an essential ingredient to all European vermouths, and which unique composition makes it all naturally preserved and colored,” said Yves Le Boulengé, Global Spokesperson at EWG. “Championed by leading bartenders, the resurgence of classic cocktails in which vermouth plays an integral role, twinned with the desire for natural and better crafted products, has given rise to a renewed interest and demand for this drink. La Quintinye Vermouth Royal’s elegance, impeccable quality and magnificent taste will undoubtedly seduce both trade and consumers.”

La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is available in three distinct varieties: Vermouth Royal Rouge, Vermouth Royal Blanc and Vermouth Royal Extra Dry.

All share a base of 12 carefully selected plants and spices including artemisia (i.e. wormwood), vine flowers (EWG’s signature), angelica, iris roots, cardamom, cinnamon, cinchona (or quinine bark), citrus aurentium (or bitter orange), ginger, liquorice, nutmeg and quassia amara. Each variant is then completed with its own specific selection of botanicals: in total, 28 plants and spices compose Vermouth Royal Rouge, 18 make the Blanc variety and 27 are used in Vermouth Royal Extra Dry.

La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is the newest addition to the Classic & Vintage portfolio, an artisanal division of spirits within Domaine Select Wine Estates (DSWE) (http://www.domaineselect.com/).

“We are very pleased and honored to welcome La Quintinye Vermouth Royal in the United States as part of our portfolio and are very confident in the potential of this unique and all natural vermouth to lead the trend of super premium vintage products at an attractive price point,” said Paolo Domeneghetti, Founder and CEO of DSWE.

La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is available in 750 ml and 375 ml formats, priced $21.99 and $14.99 respectively. For more information, please visit (http://www.laquintinyevermouthroyal.com/).
