CHICAGO, March 30, 2015 — KOVAL is proud to announce that their latest release, KOVAL Dry Gin, was awarded with a Double Gold Medal (for spirit and for packaging) at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The highly regarded international competition, now in its 15th year, was conducted March 20th through 22nd at the Hotel Nikko in Downtown San Francisco and saw more entries than ever before—over 1,500 spirits were judged over the course of the weekend.
Since its release in late 2014, KOVAL Dry Gin has been recognized internationally. Earlier this year, KOVAL Dry Gin was a recipient of the Graphic Design USA American Package Design Competition, both for the 750ml and 200ml bottles.
“We’re thrilled by the response to the Dry Gin thus far and are looking forward to its international expansion in the coming months,” said KOVAL Co-Founder and President, Sonat Birnecker Hart.
“The gin category at SF World has grown significantly in the last few years, giving it a much more competitive landscape.” said Robert Birnecker, CEO and Master Distiller at KOVAL. “We’re extremely proud to be recognized by such a prestigious judging panel.”
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition invites 2015 Double Gold award winners to participate in nationwide wine and spirits tastings hosted by The Tasting Panel Magazine.
With a base of their award-winning white whiskey, KOVAL Dry Gin adds flavors from grains of paradise, rose hip, juniper, angelica root, and coriander. The recipe makes it crisp enough to be enjoyed straight and complex enough for classic and contemporary cocktails. The attention to detail that KOVAL’s grain-to-bottle process allows shines through in the final product. At 47% ABV, this gin offers a higher alcohol content than others found on the market.
