Texas-based Tequila 512 Unveils Next Phase of Company Evolution

AUSTIN, TX, September 26, 2016Tequila 512, one of the fastest growing tequila companies based in Texas, is introducing a bold new brand identity, packaging, and website to reflect both the company’s enterprising growth and its heritage. Tequila 512 has also added significant strength to its sales and distribution team as the company enters its next phase of development.

Founder, Scott Willis, said, “Our packaging is one of our most powerful assets. We’ve had such rapid growth that our brand has really evolved and we want our brand identity to mirror that evolution and our recent wave of success.”

The company worked with The Butler Bros., a brand studio in Austin, to develop the new logo and packaging. The signature element of the new packaging is a thick, bright yellow stripe featured throughout the product line. The bold color and block typography were inspired by hand painted signs commonly displayed on the walls of buildings throughout the town of Tequila, Mexico. The new packaging graphics also include information about the distilling process that differentiates Tequila 512 from other brands allowing consumers to make an informed decision.

Tequila 512 will also launch a new addition to its product line – Tequila 512 Añejo. The Añejo was aged for 13 months in oak casks which were previously used to age bourbon. The third tequila expression in the family has a beautifully sweet approach with a peppery body and slight mango finish.

Tequila 512 also hired Christopher Cain, an esteemed spirits industry veteran, as vice president for sales and marketing. In this role, Cain will further develop the company’s growing portfolio of accounts. Cain, who most recently served as director of sales with Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co., has a wealth of industry experience. He served as vice president of sales & marketing for Dulce Vida Spirits, where he built a sales team, launched the brand in 14 states, three Canadian provinces, and China, and was instrumental in positioning the brand for acquisition. Prior to that Cain served in multiple senior roles at Beam Global.

“As demand from our customers continued to grow, we realized we needed to add someone with significant industry chops. We are very fortunate to find someone of Chris’ caliber to fill this role,” said Willis. “Tequila 512 is a humble company with big aspirations. Our product has always been outstanding, and now we have a brand identity and salesforce to match.”

To further increase its market penetration, Tequila 512 formed a strategic partnership with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), a family-owned business that has grown into the second largest beverage alcohol distributor of premium wine and spirits in the U.S. RNDC will engage their National Accounts Team to increase sales and Tequila 512 market share, and also deploy a Trade Marketing team that specializes in enhancing brand value through the development of regionally relevant, integrated marketing programs.

These significant advances follow a phase of continued growth and expansion, which have been further propelled by securing $1.5 million from private investors earlier this year.
