Ocean Spray Showcases Premium Powders at Supplyside West

October 13, 2011 – Ocean Spray’s Ingredient Technology Group (ITG) presented its cranberry extract powder at this year’s SupplySide West.  Backed by years of research into the health potential of cranberry, the cranberry extract powder delivers the goodness associated with cranberry in a convenient shelf-stable format.

Ocean Spray’s cranberry extract powder delivers ? 1.5 percent of bioactive proanthocyanidins (PACs)[1], a concentrated level of the PACs responsible for delivering the required minimum 36mg of cranberry PACs that may “help reduce the adhesion of certain E. coli bacteria to the urinary tract walls.”[2]   Ocean Spray supports the industry’s quest for a commercially available standardized method for the quantification of PAC content suitable for measuring the unique A-type PACs in the North American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon).

Ocean Spray’s cranberry powders offer a highly soluble format, with excellent stability and blendability in manufacturing, and provide a premium quality replacement for artificial colors and flavors in applications such as dry-mix beverages.  They represent a convenient way to add the appeal of real fruit to confectionery and beverage applications.

Ocean Spray partners with Artemis International to deliver its powder portfolio for nutraceutical applications to the food, beverage, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries. The partnership between Artemis and Ocean Spray combines the experience, technical application expertise and product synergies of the two companies to help drive global sales growth
