PROSSER, Wash., July 31, 2015 — Milne is introducing a new app for the iPhone and Android for beverage industry professionals who deal with brix, dilution, raw materials and cost calculations.
“Today’s executive needs to access information and calculate product costs wherever they are – this app will help them be more effective on the road and in the office,” Shannon Elkins, Director of Sales and Marketing at Mine, said. “It easily calculates brix values on pounds per gallon, pound solids per gallon as well as on a metric ton basis.”
The idea for the app started with Tyson Jones, Sales and Marketing Manager, who said, “The app is designed for use across different departments including research and development and quality control – it’s fast, easy to use and always available.”
The new app also provides dilution rates from concentrated brix to a ready to drink beverage and looks up preset juice values for a number of fruit and vegetable products based on FDA standard brix values for single strength juices. It can also convert price quotes between per gallon, per pound, per kilogram and metric ton and per pound solid values – all of which can be shared by email or text.
The app also provides direct access to Milne’s website, tradeshow calendar and an informational video. The Milne App is free and is now available from the Apple App Store. An Android version will be available through Google play by August 31st.
