Correction: the last issue of the flow incorrectly identified the location of Allstate Beverage Company. Allstate Beverage Company currently operates out of Troy, Ala. McAllen, Texas’ Pepsi bottling plant will shut its doors in April and move down the road to Hidalgo, bringing 90 jobs with it. Amoskeag Beverages Inc. of Hooksett, N.H. and Capitol Distributors Inc. of Bow, N.H. have merged to create Amoskeag Beverages LLC, which will be one of the largest beer distributors in New Hampshire.

Law and Policy
New York Governor David Paterson is backing off on his soda tax proposal. The Wall Street Journal printed an article about companies, including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and SABMiller, tracking their “water footprint.”

Distribution
Celsius Holdings announced that Celsius is now available for consumer purchase in 56 New England-based Big Y stores. Wild Waters All Natural Fortified Water for Kids is now available at all Stop & Shop and Giant Supermarkets from Maine to Virginia.

Miscellaneous
A man from Ukraine and another from Lithuania who tried to return 7,000 cans for the $700 deposit in the dead of a Michigan winter said they needed the cash for their vacation. But the cans the two 25-year-olds tried to cash in at a Meijer store last weekend came from Florida and are worthless under Michigan law.

Promotions/Appearances
Alacer Corp. announced the Emergen-C Health & Energy Water 1000, a four-month, 1,000-stop sampling tour set to boost immune systems nationwide. During the tour, Alacer Corp. will give away free bottles at stores, events, and front doors. • PepsiCo created a hipster music video featuring its brightly-colored billboards for Valentine’s Day. Coca-Cola is using R&B artist Musiq Soulchild, NBA All Star, LeBron James, and artist Kadir Nelson to deliver the message, ‘BE LEGENDARY,’ ‘BE DRIVEN,’ ‘BE GIVING’ and ‘BE HEARD’ to African American consumers through a print campaign. The promotion will also allow consumers to be a part of events and community activities, including a series of appearances with Musiq Soulchild in 10 cities. Musiq will meet and greet consumers, share his inspirational poems and autograph reprints of the ads. The World Environment Center’s Gold Medal for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development went to The Coca-Cola Company for strategic business initiatives in the high impact areas of water stewardship, sustainable packaging, energy management, and climate protection. Cargill is rolling out Truvia sweetener, used in Coca-Cola’s Sprite Green and three Odwalla SKUs, with a $20 million ad campaign
