So, after waiting only a couple days for my free 12 pack of 5 Hour Energy, I will finally be able to review the world's most popular energy shot. Ok, so I poured the little 2 ounce shot into a glass and what came out looked somewhat like water with a pink hue. I proceeded to slam the 2 ounces and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It tasted like berry flavored cough syrup, only less thick and without that horrible aftertaste. As a matter of fact, after I slammed the 2 ounces, I went to the sink to wash out my mouth, but I realized that there was no aftertastes so I didn't need to. So, before I get to the kick, what exactly is in this 5 Hour Energy. Well, it has 2,000% of Vitamin B6, 8,333% of Vitamin B12 and a 1,870 milligram energy blend consisting of Tuarine, Glucuronolactone, Malic Acid, N-Acetyl, L-Tyrosine, L-Phenylalanine, Caffeine, and Citicoline. Quite an extensive list if you ask me. Unfortunately the makers of 5 Hour Energy are not willing to disclose the level of caffeine that is in these drinks. It states that it has the caffeine equivalent of a cup of premium coffee. So, with that being said I would guess 80 to 120 milligrams of caffeine, but it could be as much as 150 milligrams. On Go Energy Shot said the same thing about their caffeine content, until they disclosed a caffeine amount of 177 milligrams. It is probably why 5 Hour Energy won't disclose there caffeine content, it is probably pretty high and they are afraid their sales would decrease. Finally, we can go onto the kick. I slammed 5 Hour Energy before a workout and this stuff is where its at! I wasn't that tired after my workout and I was energized for 5 hours, maybe more! There claim of 5 hours of energy is definitely true. I have had a total of 4 energy shots and I have to say this is the best one, by a long shot. I didn't feel jittery and thankfully I didn't get a Niacin Flush, which is what some people get from drinking 5 Hour Energy. If this was an energy drink, I would give it a 9. but since its an energy shot, and its not supposed to taste good, I give it a 9.7. Oh yes, which means the extra strength version might go up to 10! This was a very long review but 5 Hour Energy receives a well deserved 9.7.

This liquid burst of energy -- significantly less bursty on the tastiness front -- is nationally portrayed as an on-the-job essential. Truth be told, that is where it shines. The long-term energy surge from this concentrated fluid surely kicks in when one is behind a desk, where quiet but spirited concentration rules. It is not nearly as enlivening when higher end activity is needed. Blue-collar types will surely opt for the constant intake of caffeinated forms of energy maintenance. Still, there is a reason 5-Hour Energy is the most consumed fluid of its type on the planet. It works for a solid burst -- though the letdown can be a tad more pronounced than advertised. It'll be interesting to see where this growing experimentation between hyper-vitaminization and hydration finally goes. Odds are the government will step in when magic formulations go beyond commonly held standards of healthful human endurance -- and safety. It would seem that 5-Hour Energy — despite its assurances of a controlled buzz -- is already hitting nerves of certain high-stress individuals. If only some math logic was applied, i.e. you don’t have to down the whole bottle. In fact, sips here and there also work very well.

Very awesome and hit within a few minutes. Nice clean buzz. Overpriced but I found mine discounted for 1.00 a piece. The lemon lime as well as the berry are all recommended at least once.
