Alex's Lemonade

Manufacturer's Brand Overview [Edit]

In July of 2000 a four year old cancer patient named Alexandra "Alex" Scott announced a seemingly simple idea- to hold a lemonade stand on her front lawn to raise money to help "her doctors" find a cure for kids with cancer. For the next four years despite deteriorating health Alex held an annual lemonade stand to raise money for childhood cancer research. Following her inspirational example, children, schools, businesses and organizations have held thousands of lemonade stands across the country, all to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Together, over $6 million has been raised to fight childhood cancer. Alex continually amazed and inspired all who knew her with her positive outlook and incredible strength. Alex passed away in August of 2004, but her memory and legacy live on through all who support her cause.. finding a cure for childhood cancer. Now, in the spirit of all the charitable lemonade stands held in Alex's name, we proudly introduce Alex's Lemonade and Alex's Pink Lemonade, available in 20 fl. oz. bottles for the consumer market place. These hot filled products are only made with the highest quality ingredients, real lemon juice and other natural flavors. Alex's Lemonades are great tasting and vitamin C enriched making them a fun healthy choice among consumers. Help us find a cure "one bottle at a time."

Original Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 20 fl oz plastic (592 ml)
BevNET Review: This product is standard-fare mainstream lemonade, but it comes attached to a good cause. In 2000, a 4 year-old cancer patient named Alexandra “Alex” Scott set up a lemonade stand with the intent of raising money to fight cancer. Over the years, the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has continued that fight, and this product will give money to the same cause. But with 5 percent juice, high-fructose corn syrup, natural flavors, and yellow #5, the flavor of this lemonade is a bit too sweet, and there’s not enough of a sour lemon taste to complement the sweetness. The packaging could do a better job of tying the product to the worthy cause it supports. It would certainly be more obvious if the graphic on the rear of the label (of the real Alex Scott) were more prominent, but that might be pushing the promotional tie-in a bit too far – obviously a tough situation for a brand marketer to be in. Overall, we certainly applaud the intentions of this product, but wonder if its message will be clear enough to consumers, especially when it competes with higher-end products.Reviewed on: 3/5/2007

Pink Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 20 fl oz plastic (592 ml)
BevNET Review: The Pink Lemonade variety is sweeter than the regular lemonade, but less natural-tasting as a result of the added flavors. Still, we found this variety to be more enjoyable than its counterpart, most likely because the added berry flavor takes the emphasis off of the quality of the lemonade. Also like its counterpart, we believe that this product will more likely be purchased due to its association with a fine charitable cause than any overwhelming buzz about its flavor. Overall, a mainstream-style product that won’t wow anyone, but we – and anyone else – will certainly appreciate their good intentions.Reviewed on: 3/5/2007
