BevNET Review: B-52’s Peach starts out with a nice peach aroma that continue cleanly into the flavor. Instead, the flavor is quite sweet – almost too sweet – even if compared against a straight up CSD. There’s not a lot of peach flavor, but there is a decent dose of energy flavor. The energy ingredients are standard fare and include B vitamins, ginseng, and ginkgo biloba. Packaging is retro and, at least for the most part clean, with the exception being a large amount of text streaming around the can. We’re not sure what type of consumer “B-52” will naturally appeal to – aviation buffs? Either way, it’s innocuous and family friendly, which certainly can’t hurt. Reviewed on: 3/28/2007

BevNET Review: The flavor of B-52 Citrus Berry is sweet and fruity, but it’s hard to discern exactly what type of flavor it is, especially with the energy flavor to the finish. Still, it’s good stuff and aside from the high fructose corn syrup it left a generally pleasant flavor on our tongue. The packaging is a cleanly executed retro style design, with a large drawing of a B-52 bomber prominently placed on the front. Between the branding and the sweet and fruit flavor, we think that this product will most likely appeal to a CSD drinker who is making a shift into energy drinks but doesn’t want to sacrifice flavor. Probably not a bad way to differentiate, especially when CSD consumers are fleeing in droves.Reviewed on: 3/28/2007

BevNET Review: As far as diet energy drinks go, this product is actually quite tasty, with a full strength flavor and only 10 calories (it uses the popular sucralose and ace-k blend). Flavor is sweet and moderately fruity, with a believable citrus berry taste. There is a mild sweetener and energy finish, but again, it’s better than most other diets we’ve tried. Packaging and branding is really the biggest unknown for this product as it’s try to sell retro in a category that has typically focused on hip/urban styling. Overall, we think this product has good enough flavor to keep customers coming back – assuming they take the brand seriously enough to try it in the first place.Reviewed on: 3/28/2007
