Marquis Platinum Vitality Drink

BevNET Review: Marquis Platinum is designed to be a "vitality drink" which, unlike energy drinks, is supposed to have long term benefits, including delivery of anti-oxidants (through green tea), burning of calories (again, through green tea), and functioning as a cosmeceutical (with the addition of pine bark). It's hard to understand how they justify some of their claims, especially since some of these have been tried before with criticism (Enviga being a great example). Beyond that, the product more or less drinks like an energy drink -- and given its overall likeliness to that category, we think that's what the industry and consumer will treat this as. In terms of flavor, there are strong green tea and energy flavors, which have been rounded out with some sort of fruit flavor. Packaging uses a standard 12 oz slim can with a paint job that was designed to give the product a premium feeling, but we're not sure how effective it will be given that it uses the same can as the rest of the market. Still, it's a very good first effort -- even if you consider it an energy drink.Reviewed on: 11/9/2007
