Psyche is a stevia- and erythritol-sweetened soda that is all-natural and zero-calorie. Like the other products that have entered into this fledgling category, it’s the lemon lime variety that’s the often the best tasting. In the case of this one, the lemon lime flavor is very much your stock flavor, but it imparts a fair amount of flavor into the product. The zero-calorie sweeteners give the product a decent amount of sweetness, but the aftertaste from the product is definitely on par with a standard diet soda. All in all, this product is certainly drinkable and familiar, but we’re not sure that it has something that will keep consumers coming back to this brand as opposed to others. As far as the branding and design, we feel the same way. The name is clever and simple, but the brand lacks appeal compared with what else is out there. We like the silhouette of the White Rock fairy, but that brings up another idea: why not brand this as White Rock? That name, unlike Psyche, has some equity that would definitely be useful given that CSDs are no stranger to the company. Overall, a decent product, but we’d honestly feel much more positive if they sold it under the White Rock name.
