Honey Green Tea

Pure Life “Honey Green Tea” is a sugar, honey and stevia-sweetened product that was designed with the clear intention of being 100 calories per bottle. To that end, we’re a bit perplexed by the fact that this product tastes much more like a diet drink than other products that achieve a lower calorie count by simply reducing package size, sugar content or by having more cleverly formulated blends. In this day and age, this product seems like it’s reversing course on all of the innovation that we’ve seen in the tea category. And we’d say the exact same thing about the exterior of this product. The squarish 18.5 oz. bottle has a poorly applied shrink sleeve label over its lower half. Overall, the package has dated look to it and certainly has a weaker shelf presence than competing products. Lastly, there’s the branding. The product says “this is a bottle of tea,” but beyond that, it feels like a pretty soulless product. All in all, we’re less than impressed with Pure Leaf’s Honey Green Tea.
