BevNET Review: The flagship flavor of the Rockstar Roasted lineup is "Latte", a blend of premium coffee, cream, sugar, and energy ingredients. The body is rich and creamy, which is no surprise given the 260+ calories and 8+ grams of fat per can. Still, if it's a coffee drink that you want, this product definitely holds its own. On the energy side, the product delivers a fairly standard ginseng, guarana, taurine, and B-vitamin cocktail, but it doesn't impact the taste. Package design is hip, but busy, and it fits nicely with the rest of the Rockstar line. Overall, it's extremely enjoyable -- although calorie heavy -- and it should help Rockstar expand into the coffee + energy subcategory.

BevNET Review: Rockstar Roasted's most innovative flavor is this one, a reduced calorie (70 per serving vs 140) and fat entry called Light Vanilla. Vanilla flavored coffee drinks are typically the most over flavored coffee entries -- and Rockstar has figured out a nice way to play this to its advantage. Specifically, they've used a blend of sugar, sucralose and ace-k to help cut the calories without sacrificing sweetness. In addition, this helps keep the vanilla flavor in check, giving the drink a coffee flavor that can stand on its own. However, this doesn't help the finish of the drink, which has a more pronounced energy and artificial sweetener flavor. Packaging follows suit with the other flavors, but with lighter color to denote the lighter formulation. Overall, we appreciate their effort to be different and cut the calories -- but would like it a lot more if the finish were a bit more smooth.

BevNET Review: The Mocha variety of Rockstar Roasted deliver an enjoyable mix of coffee, chocolate, and energy flavors in a full calorie format. The coffee and chocolate hit you first, as part of the rich and creamy body that make up this drink. There's a decent level of sweetness as well, followed by a mild energy finish. Overall, it's a very enjoyable flavor that's also credible as an energy drink. Branding is attractive and fits with the rest of the Rockstar line, but we think they've put a bit too much text on the front panel of the can ("premium blended", for example). Aside from this minor detail, we think that Rockstar's Roasted Mocha is a great addition to the lineup.
