BevNET Review: Aloe Gloe’s “Organic Aloe Water” is the company’s first offering to come in a Tetra Pak. Packaged in a one liter container with a screw top cap, this product is made with water, organic aloe vera inner leaf powder, organic sugar, malic acid, natural flavors, and organic stevia. It definitely drinks much more like a water than other aloe drinks that we’ve sampled, which is a good thing if you are seeking something that is easy drinking and thirst quenching. However, it doesn’t have as much aloe flavor as some of the products that are positioned as aloe vera juices. Beyond that, we appreciate that the stevia doesn’t get in the way of the enjoyment of the drink (the aloe does a nice job of masking it). Of course, the stevia does a nice job of keeping the calories in check, with only 18 calories per 8 oz. serving (or about 75 calories for the entire container). Visually, the taller and larger format definitely has given Aloe Gloe the ability to create something that is cleaner and more appealing to the eyes. It’s very obvious that it’s an aloe product and we like the clear call-outs for the USDA Organic certification and the caloric content. Overall, this is definitely a welcome addition to the Aloe Gloe lineup.Reviewed on: 4/17/2013

White Grape

BevNET Review: While most beverages that contain white grape juice tend to hide this information (since it’s typically a filler juice), Aloe Gloe is turning that around and marketing it as a flavor. And, somewhat to our surprise, the white grape flavor actually works really well for this product. It not only provides a nice complement to the aloe flavor, but it also helps provide balance and also helps to mask the stevia that is used in the drink (the product also contains a small amount of added sugar). All in all, the product has a very light and refreshing flavor to it, with just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy the sweet tooth. Packaging is a 15.2 ounce proprietary PET bottle. They’ve done a nice job making the white bottle look modern and chic, which, for the target consumer (primarily females), seems like the right approach. The calorie conscious product (it has 35 calories per bottle) manages to convey its health focus without seeming like a diet product, which, for a product of this type, is definitely a positive. Overall, this is a very well executed product and our favorite of the Aloe Gloe line.Reviewed on: 12/20/2011

BevNET Review: Aloe Gloe, which is the first aloe product to position itself as “aloe water,” is a stevia and sugar sweetened beverage that is enhanced with aloe powder. From a flavor perspective, the similarities to aloe vera juice are there, but in a much thinner, easier to drink format. It’s light (to the tune of 35 calories) and moderately sweet, with the 15.2 oz. bottle making for something that can be consumed relatively quickly. That said, this product is definitely more of an enhanced water than a straight competitor to aloe vera juice -- but its ultimately something that seems to have much broader potential. Packaging is well thought-out and executed, with the white bottle making for something that looks light and healthy. Compared with what’s out there in the aloe space, we like their “Made in California” approach, which lacks the ethnic vibe that so many other aloe products have. Overall, the blend of lighter flavor and clean, modern packaging make this a product that definitely has a lot of potential.Reviewed on: 12/20/2011
