BevNET Review: The Black Tea variety of Amp is significantly better than the green tea enhanced variety. This is the direct result of having actual tea flavor present in the body of the drink, as well as a touch of lemon on the way out. As a result, the product drinks like a carbonated version of a canned iced tea (like Nestea), but with a bit of punch at the end. That might not sound overly innovative, but we think it’s got some marketability to it, assuming Pepsi gives this a chance. However, the chances might be hurt with the busy can, which, like the other flavors, suffers from too much text trying to explain what’s actually a pretty straightforward product. Overall, likeable flavor, but messy packaging.

This is hands down the best tasting energy drink I've tried, and it's a pretty unique taste out of most drinks in general. If you get the chance to taste it, don't pass it up.

Its taste is really unique. I can't tell whether I like this beverage or not. Just buy a normal amp if you are after some energy.

Disappointing

I tried this beverage a few weeks ago. I found the taste displeasing. I was expecting a sweet-tea flavor, but instead I got a bitter tea flavor. It tasted like tea that had been overbrewed, with a heavy lemon twinge. I don't mind unsweetened tea, but this was a much different kind of bitterness that stuck around in my mouth. The carbonation was the final straw that kept this from being palatable. The "energy" content (stimulant content) is not exactly a unique feature. Others might enjoy the flavor more, but I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it to my friends.

This might be the tastiest energy drink I've tried. Unlike Nestea, this isn't syrupy sweet and has a very nice soda bite in the finish.

tastes just like lipton, except stronger tea taste, a very slight after taste, nice extra punch of caffeine from the tea as well

We were suprised at the taste and we loved it. It is bitter and has a really great taste and you can actually taste the black tea. It leaves a huge aftertaste that has a bit of a lemon taste. We love Amp Energy with Black Tea. We can't wait 'till we have our next.
