I consider myself to be a root beer expert, and have tried other brands of root beer float soda that were very nice. This on the other hand lacked carbonation, and had the taste and mouth feel of drinking those little cups of flavored Carnation coffee creamer. A&W can do better than this.

A&W Floats ICK
I had "real" root beer float Saturday night, and bought the A&W float on Sunday and tried it Sunday night. It was awful! It tastes nothing like a root beer float, it doesn't even taste anything like root beer. I can't vouch for the Sunkist Float but I'm not risking it. I couldn't even finish it, it tasted so badly. I can't imagine how it got through taste testing. Stick with the 'hassle' (from their website www.floats.com) of the original.

SHAKE IT UP!!!
Make sure to SHAKE this drink before trying it.... The first time that I tried it I was unhappy... I thought that it had the same flat taste as the other reviwers... then I noticed that it said to shake it up... and what a difference it makes.

A&W Floats
Terrible! I bought a 4 pack for $5.99 at the local Publix thinking I would give it a try. Whenever we go on vacation I try all the root beers I can find. So I figured I would try these. A&W and Sunkist. I tried the A&W first and it was flat with little to no carbination in it at all. Taste was more of carmel not root beer and ice cream. I couldnt finish the bottle and poured it down the drain. Money was well wasted with this stuff. I am afraid to open and try the Sunkist at this point. I still have 3 bottles of A&W that I should go and return and get my money back. Too much sugar in them also.
Found it enjoyable and smooth. Pretty sweet and lightly carbonated with a definate ode to what its trying to intend for the consumer to think of. 399 for a 4pk is excellent pricing too.

FLOAT
Bolth of thes products are way too sweety and get in the way of the Flavor. If they reduced the sugar content, this product would be somewhat better. The Foam is creamy and nice though.

a&w float in a bottle
not worth trying. tastes like flat root beer, with melted day old ice cream . no carbonation a small amount would have been nice and put this on my top 10 list. product price was high, liked the feel of the bottle

For what it's worth
It's as good as you can get without actually "getting it". Definitely has a foamy taste to it (think the part of the float where you drink the root beer that is around the floating ice cream).
I probably wouldn't buy this again, but for what it's worth, I'm glad I tried it.

A&W Float
This is one of the worst drinks that I had and I have tried hundreds of different sodas and mixes. Trying to get a root beer float without real ice cream will never be a hit. This product hurts the reputation of the company and should be pulled. I would love to know whom tested this product before.
