Lemongrass Mint Vanilla

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 750 ml Glass
BevNET Review: The first flavor we sampled of Ayala'’s Sparkling Herbal Water was Lemongrass Vanilla Mint. Like the other sparkling flavors, this product’'s origins are in its still counterpart of the same name. In this case, the addition of carbonation works quite well, with the lemongrass, mint, and vanilla flavors having extra pop in your mouth. However, it tastes just a bit too lemony, unless the product is consumed when extremely cold. Still, the flavors in this drink are very accurate and natural tasting, which definitely gives it a leg up on some of its competitors. On the outside, the packaging is simple, but sophisticated, with a frosted glass bottle and a stuck-on label that’'s colorful and clean. If anything, we'’d suggest making the word sparkling a bit more prominent. Last but not least, we can’t help but wonder how a product like this might fare in a single-serve bottle. Overall, we like the addition of carbonation to the mix and, assuming it’'s on premise or holiday occasions that they are after, this is a well-executed product.

Cinnamon Orange Peel

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 750 ml Glass
BevNET Review: Of the three initial carbonated varieties, this product has the most complex flavor. That’'s due, at least in part, to the yin and yang feeling that’'s created by the citrus note of the orange peel and the slightly spicy note of the cinnamon (the same thing we loved about the still variety…). Unlike it’s still counterpart, this product is all-natural rather than USDA Organic, which might be something of importance to the type of on-premise accounts that might take this product on. Still, we very much like the packaging, with a frosted glass bottle giving the product a chic look without having to add color to the product. The label is clean and appealing to the eye, both because the text is readable and because of the nice contrast with the glass. Overall, a very nicely executed product.

Ginger Lemon Peel

Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 750 ml Glass
BevNET Review: Ginger and lemon is a combination that has really worked well for Ayala’s Herbal Water, so it’s no surprise that they’ve chosen this as one of their carbonated flavors. The sharp citrus flavor of the lemon peel goes very nicely with the light spice of the ginger, while the addition of carbonation gives it some pop that you won’t find in the still variety. That being said, we certainly hope that a single serve format is in this flavor’s future. As for the packaging, the use of a 750 ml frosted glass bottle gives the product a sophisticated look, as does the simple and clean design to the label. If anything, we’d like to see a slightly darker background color – the white and lighter portions of the yellow make some of the text hard to read. Overall, we like it, but we’d like it a lot more in a smaller bottle.
