With the success of pumpkin spiced-flavored coffee/lattes, it was only a matter of time until someone created a cold brew coffee version. And that’s exactly what Basic Beverages has done with its Pumpkin Spice flavored offering. It’s a limited edition product, which makes sense, and it doesn’t seem to stray too far from its flagship “Classic” offering. It starts out with the same mix of 7.5 (or higher) pH water and organic coffee beans that are cold brewed for 24 hours. From there, Basic blends in pumpkin spices, which definitely give the product a fall/holiday essence. It doesn’t really taste like pumpkin per se, which is fine by us given that it maintains the integrity of the coffee. The same can be said for the packaging, which uses the same 16 oz. dark amber bottle and black and label style as the Classic variety. Basic added orange as an accent color as well as an outline drawing of a pumpkin, both of which give the product some very subtle visual pop. Overall, Basic Beverages has done a very nice job with this seasonal offering.
