BevNET Review: There’s a strong taste of raspberry flavor in this zero-calorie energy tea, and that offers a surprisingly strong antidote to the heavy doses of artificial sweetener and citric acid the manufacturers employ to try to force tea down the throats of domestic consumers. BevNET Review: This super-sweet zero-calorie green tea packs a strong energy punch and a strangely addictive cinnamon flavor into a product that doesn’t seem to have very much to do with its core tea ingredient. The idea behind this drink seems to be that consumers like the idea of green tea but not the flavor, as the manufacturer has brought in a chorus of secondary flavors and sweeteners, including Kola Nut, citric acid, and a hefty dose of Splenda. It’s pretty refreshing but highly artificial-tasting. As far as packaging goes, the re-sealable PET bottle has a pretty flimsy feel the label itself looks like it was screen printed from a t-shirt. While this beverage doesn’t scream “quality,” it could nevertheless have some appeal for people making a switch from higher-calorie teas.Reviewed on: 1/3/2007
