BevNET Review: Be Happy is a chocolate-cherry flavored shot intended to create a positive mood and help reduce stress and anxiety. The packaging indicates this shot is fat-free, however it is sweetened with evaporated cane juice making the product 40 calories per serving (an amount that seems high considering the shot is only 2 oz.) The chocolate flavor leads to a nice cherry finish, no doubt assisted by the 9 g of sugar. A chocolate flavored shot is something that you don't see too often (we can think of only a few others), which certainly provides a nice option in a category dominated by citrus and berry flavors. Functionally, this product is designed to be a mood booster and create a positive mood. To do this, they use a proprietary blend of chocamine, L-theanine, and GABA. Be Happy is packaged in a classic 2 oz shot PET bottle with a shrink label. The label is green with yellow text which, at least subconsciously, might lead you to believe that this is a “citrus/lemon-lime” flavor. The product name and copy are laid out nicely, but the use of a silhouetted man and woman, who appear to be jumping, comes off as an amateur attempt to depict “happiness.” Overall, this is a pleasant tasting product with an interesting function; with just a little bit of label tweaking to emphasize the specific flavor, it could be a welcome addition to the f shot space.Reviewed on: 12/21/2010
