Blending cold-brew coffee with chai is not something that we’re familiar with, although we did find this product to be enjoyable. The coffee flavor is quite light, providing an additional layer of flavor (and an additional 4mg of caffeine per serving) that complements the ginger and other spices that make up their core chai formulation. Otherwise, the product contains soy milk and sugar, which are found in their other products as well. From a positioning point of view, we see some challenges in putting coffee and tea into a single product -- there’s just a lot going on. And visually, they haven’t really helped this situation, with the words “Coffee Blend” slapped under the Bhakti Chai logo. More importantly, there’s the issue of the product requiring refrigeration, which makes the product’s retail options somewhat limited and logistics complicated. Overall, it’s a very unique product, but we feel as though trying to make this product more approachable would help lure in more consumers than the current format will.
