Black Eagle Energy Drink is a decent tasting energy drink that’s very much a “me-too” style product. The product uses what is typically called “classic” energy drink flavor, which is to say that it has a berry citrus flavor, some bite, and, thanks to the use of high fructose corn syrup, a syrupy finish. It’s basically the same exact flavor you can find in a countless number of other products that are or have been on the market. And with few exceptions, this approach generally leads to an outcome that’s not overly good for the brand marketer. In the case of Black Eagle, the product’s package isn’t helping the cause either, with a sloppy looking paint job that’s not going to help it lure in consumers. Furthermore, naming a drink after a presumably aggressive animal is a very clichéd and tired approach. Ultimately, this leaves only one way for this brand to compete: super discounted price. Overall, we think that this product is one that needs to go back to the drawing board.
