Blast Energy Drink

BevNET Review: Blast Energy Drink “Original” is a berry flavored energy drink featuring “extreme vitamins.” Unfortunately, this is one of those products whose flaws outweigh its benefits. The flavor is a candy like berry flavor that is sweetened with a blend of high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, and ace-k (it still clocks in at 210 calories per can). The “x- vitamins” include vitamin B3, B6, B5, and a whopping 5000 percent RDA (if you drink the whole can – it’s a single serve container) of B12. Why this is needed or how the consumer benefits is simply ignored – but more is better, right? At least that’s what they seem to want you to think. On the outside, the product looks like something that would be used to lampoon the energy drink category (think Matador Energy) – it’s just too comical looking to be taken as a serious contender in the dense energy drink category. That said, a complete visual overhaul and a less “extreme” formula might be a good starting point for this product. Until then, it’s hard to imagine this brand gaining a meaningful loyal following.
