BevNET Review: Designed to have “similar nutrition content to blood” and packaged in a 3.4 oz. pouch, Blood Energy Drink is, on the surface, the textbook definition of a novelty drink. However, unlike many other novelty products out there, this one is actually quite drinkable, with a pleasant fruit punch flavor sweetened with sugar and sucralose. Even better, the product has whey protein in it, which gives the product 4g of protein per 3.4 oz. serving. That puts the formulation in the up-and-coming protein and energy hybrid subcategory. Plus, there’s some good kick to this product, thanks to a blend of caffeine, amino acid, and enzymes. So, if you can look past its cheesy exterior and don’t mind drinking viscous blood colored liquid, this is actually a pretty decent product. Even if they were to rebrand this and keep the pouch, it might have a shot as a sports oriented product. Until then, we’re sorry to say that this product’s choice to be a novelty brand will likely relegate it to low volume niche retailers.
