BevNET Review: Blumer's Black Cherry is your basic black cherry soda -- sweet, medium carbonation, and lots of black cherry flavor. All in all, it's a good product, but it's nothing that you should go out of your way to get. The formulation uses high fructose corn syrup, which puts it at a definite disadvantage when compared to the many competing products as the result of its somewhat syrupy body. In addition, we'd like the black cherry flavor to be a bit less tart. The packaging is the most clear of the brand, with a giant black cherry featured on the label. It's definitely more enticing than the other Blumer's. Overall, one of the better products in the brand. Reviewed on: 8/12/2005

BevNET Review: We really didn't enjoy this product right from the start. If it wasn't at the first sight of the blue color, it was definitely from the second the artificial blueberry scent hit our nose. The "blueberry" flavor is much more like a generic berry flavor rather than that of blueberries. The cream flavor tastes much thinner than in the Cream Soda and the combination of the two flavors is just unpalatable. Skip this one. Reviewed on: 8/12/2005

BevNET Review: As far as the Blumer's line goes, this is definitely as good as it gets. The flavor is rich and creamy, with a real taste of vanilla -- something that you don't see in many cream sodas nowadays. The use of high fructose corn syrup -- a negative for many products -- actually works pretty well in this product as it gives it a natural thickness. The packaging used by Blumer's Cream Soda has a clean, nostalgic look, but it's nothing that would really stand out from the crowd. Still a solid product that we would definitely recommend. BevNET Review: For a product that says that it was established in 1845, this product sure tastes a lot like every other root beer that's on today's store shelves. Using a high fructose corn syrup sweetened formulation, this product has a creamy flavor with a subtle vanilla flavor and only a slight syrupy consistency. The flavor is decent, but we feel like we've had this formula at least a dozen times before, so we can't give it any points for originality. Overall, it's a decent, middle of the pack premium root beer. As far as packaging goes, it's not bad, but it feels a little bland. Aside from the barrels, which have nothing to do with this product anyway, there's nothing on the package that would really inspire a purchase.Reviewed on: 8/12/2005
