BevNET Review: This entry into the second generation of acai berry drinks uses an ingredient that we have yet to see in a mainstream beverage: cacao (that’s the fruit whose seeds are used to make cocoa and chocolate). But that’s not all – this drink is also loaded with acai, guarana, Merlot grape juice, and apple juice, resulting in a blend of fruit that is truly original. Cutting the acai with other fruits gives the product a more mellow and decidedly mainstream gritty grape-juice taste that finishes with a splash of tartness. The packaging is attractive, but word heavy, and it’s most definitely the type of product that will require the consumer to examine it before deciding to purchase. Our only reservation with this product is that it might still taste a bit foreign to the American palate, especially when tasted side by side with the Mangosteen variety.

This is the most delicious juice I have ever tasted. It is like drinking the essence of chocolate without the guilt! My store is no longer supplying it. Where do I get it?!!!!

My Favorite Prepared Acai Product.

Vivid, unusual flavor. This is an extremely rich beverage that I find is best consumed in sips. The cacao is a perfect complement to acai's mildly chocolate character; my only complaint is that this is a rather pricey item, hence I'm unable to justify purchasing it on a regular basis. One has to consider, though, that quality rarely comes cheap, especially given that some of these ingredients aren't indigenous to North America. I use Sambazon's Power Scoop in my daily smoothies but this is what I drink "straight up." I highly recommend giving it a try.

A great healthy drink! - Açai is a Brazilian Staple

472 Antioxidants per serving compared to 95 in a Cranberry drink. Has natural Guarana for energy and only natural sweetness. American aren't used to the flavor and may find it very different. This is a staple in Brazil along with Guarana just like coffee is here. A great healthy drink.
