BevNET Review: Despite the name implying there are only two fruits used in this, there are actually four: mangosteen, passionfruit, guava, and peach. The reason that we call this out is that all of these flavors are easily identifiable in the mix, which actually makes for something that’s much better tasting than mangosteen and passionfruit might be. The guava and peach, which add guava “grit” and peach “fuzz” really make the drink, while the mangosteen and passionfruit provide a decent base of flavor. We realize that there’s something to be said for naming consistency, but they’re selling this one short as this is, technically speaking, our favorite flavor of the entire brand. Plus, we like the lighter colored liquid, which stands out amongst the other darker colored flavors. However, it’s hard to say just how marketable a mangosteen variety is, especially when it’s competing other Bossa Nova flavors that incorporate more recognizable and appealing flavors. Overall, this is technically their best work, but we’re doubtful that this will actually be their best seller based on the current naming of the drink.
