Apple Cider Vinegar - Apple Cinnamon

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Bragg Apple Cinnamon is an apple cider vinegar drink and (as you could guess) is made from just organic cider vinegar and organic apple juice with a touch of organic cinnamon. Upon cracking the bottle open, an inviting aroma of apple pie is present and the first sip does not disappoint. There is only a vague note of vinegar, which dissipates quickly and allows the cider to shine through. Just a touch of cinnamon rounds out the flavor and leaves you with a sweet aftertaste. The drink is sweetened with stevia which is hardly noticeable and helps keep this product at only 32 calories per bottle. The drink is in a stock clear glass “Snapple-esque” bottle with stock cap. The bottle is wrapped in a paper label -- which is where things get a bit haywire. The label is very text heavy as it appears to be marketing the beverage, the “Dr” behind the “Bragg” brand and some kind of apple cider book simultaneously which is a bit confusing. Bragg’s Apple Cinnamon Cider Vinegar Drink is comprised of simple ingredients and is pleasant tasting, however to be anything more than a niche brand in a co-op type marketplace they would need a complete label/branding overhaul.Reviewed on: 2/1/2011

Apple Cider Vinegar - Ginger Spice

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Bragg Ginger Spice is another apple cider-based drink that combines apple cider vinegar with organic ginger and, like their other products, it’s sweetened with a stevia extract. The organic ginger pops from the stock bottle and overtakes your tastebuds. The spice from the ginger combined with the cider vinegar produces a tart taste but unfortunately lacks any heat that is found in other ginger spice products. The stevia is mildy apparent at the finish but does not take away from the overall flavor especially considering this product is zero calories. The label is almost identical to the Apple Cinnamon with a slight color variation on the background a quick swap of cinnamon sticks for ginger root on the front panel. The text heavy copy remains. Like the other SKU, this is a good-tasting zero calorie drink but to survive outside of the natural/organic marketplace a full branding overhaul would be necessary.Reviewed on: 2/1/2011
