BevNET Review: The difference between this product and its Double Chocolate Counterpart is immense. As the rich, white label implies, this drink comes with a heavy dose of vanilla. Fortunately, that vanilla flavor lingers long enough to overwhelm almost all of the Splenda aftertaste that plagues its chocolate sibling, resulting in a much cleaner finish that isn’t tarred by chemical residue. With the same nutritional content as its counterpart, this is a chuggable meal replacement that we’d certainly go back to if we needed a sweet treat to get us from one meal to the next. BevNET Review: We were prepared to hate this, given the problems with artificial sweeteners that plagued the Double Chocolate version, but instead were pleasantly surprised – the addition of a bit of raspberry puree created enough complexity in the mix to blunt the effects of the Splenda that have been such a large pitfall for so many beverages. The result is a product that could indeed be a fine, chocolate-flavored option for meal-skippers, one that’s packaged in a mature-looking shrink-wrap label.Reviewed on: 12/19/2006

BevNET Review: The addition of peach puree to this milk-based meal replacement drink doesn’t add much to this product beyond a tiny hint of peach flavor. We think they could ratchet it up a bit and have a nice peach-vanilla mix that would serve as a very enticing snack combining the implied goodness of milk and fruit – what could be more wholesome! – in a vanilla shake. BevNET Review: This “meal-on-the-move” offering from Bravo offers plenty of protein (14 grams) to keep energy levels up, and a rich, luscious, melted-chocolate shrink wrapper to entice consumers. It also offers plenty of Splenda-enhanced chocolate flavor, which is where things start to go south. The first hit of chocolate is okay and certainly creamy enough, but the rush of artificial sweetener’s aftertaste is pretty severe, and stays with you to the point where it cuts into the flavor altogether, so that it just doesn’t seem all that much like milk anymore. With all the chocolate and protein in this product, a little less Splenda and a few more carbohydrates’ worth of sugar wouldn’t be a bad idea. Still, if you’ve got to have something to hold you over to the next meal, there are worse choices.Reviewed on: 12/19/2006
