BevNET Review: Yet another small-batch soda offering from Shipyard, the ginger beer has a complex, spicy profile that numbed our tongue for a little while. While it doesn’t look all that potent, it’s strong ginger flavor will absolutely have you dreaming of shots of dark rum to create that potent dark and stormy cocktail. And Capt’n Eli’s Ginger Beer comes dressed in an attractive label showing a kid in a rowboat, accompanied by a friendly parrot, to boot. Definitely worth a try for ginger beer fans.

The food is ok, but they carry lota of glass bottled micro brew sodas! This is good, made with real ginger, Reeds is better, but this gets props for real ginger.

I found that Capt'n Eli's Ginger Beer comes on with a nice ginger kick but finishes with a noticeable woody/herbal aftertaste. This might be fine for the consumer who plans to use this beverage as a mixer. But if you enjoy ginger beer as a refreshing soft drink or to accompany a meal, it could be objectionable. In comparison, Reed's Extra offers a similarly potent dose of ginger goodness with a crisp, citrus presentation.

I just tasted your Ginger beer for the first time while visiting Maine. I have been dreaming of it ever since! Where can I buy it in San Diego,CA???

Overall, this addition to the Captn Eli's product lineup is great! This has perhaps the most bite of any of the high quality ginger ales I've tried. I can see how the taste may be too overwhelming for some, and it certainly isn't something I would purchase regularly due to its potentcy, but I won't hold that against this being a great drink.
