Product Type:Water: Enhanced; Container: 12 oz Aluminum bottle
BevNET Review: Cardio Water is a pomegranate and grape flavored beverage that claims to have more resveratrol than 100 glasses of wine. Thanks to the use of a blend of erythritol, sugar, and stevia, each 12 oz. serving has only 30 calories, but still manages to have an enjoyable, albeit faint, fruit flavor. The erythritol and stevia are easily identified in the mix, but since the aftertaste is minimal, it works. From a functional perspective, this product’s high concentration of resveratrol should make it an instant hit with the consumer who is knowledgeable about this ingredient (a small but growing group) and actively seeking it for its health benefits. And thanks to the use of pomegranate extract, they’ve also added antioxidants to the mix. Cardio Water is packaged in a 12 oz. aluminum bottle which has an extremely polished look, but the choice to use fruit imagery, combined with the opaque bottle made us expect something different -- specifically, we were expecting something that was heavier on the juice. Otherwise, it seems like the placement of the Cardio Water logo and the “dox” logo could lead to some confusion as both have equal emphasis. Moving the Cardio Water further up onto the white and making the dox logo smaller would likely remedy this. Overall, we’re big fans of this product due to its enjoyable flavor and functionality, but it would benefit from a bit more visual polish. Reviewed on: 1/5/2010
